I'm an intelligent, inquisitive, and creative person. I'm a huge geek, who loves science fiction, fantasy, and horror, and I have a tendency to get really excited about things that no one else cares about. I have a strong, if dark and quirky sense of humor, heavily laced with sarcasm. I should also warn you that I have a tendency to vacillate between the maturity levels, but in a good way--I can be mature and professional when needed, but when I'm with friends I sometimes like to kick back and act like I'm fifteen again.

I love being outdoors, but I also love anything that lets me be creative or random. Sewing and gardening are two of my main hobbies, though don't let that give you the idea that I'm little Suzy Homemaker. I also spend a lot of time reading, watching movies, and exploring local attractions: museums, theatres, etc.

I've done a fair bit of traveling, and I hope to do more in the near future. I can be adventurous when the need arises, but I usually keep a certain amount of caution on hand.

My political views are strange; I'm very conservative on some issues, and extremely liberal on others, which makes it hard for me to fit myself into any one camp. I don't mind sharing my opinions, though, and even enjoy a spirited debate as long as it doesn't get nasty. I'm a walking contradiction in a lot of areas of my life, and I'm okay with that.

I'm pretty outgoing and I like to meet new people. I try to be as open minded as I can, but other times I can be a little bit awkward if I am uncomfortable in the situation. I love to hear and tell stories, especially if they're funny because laughing is a definite passion of mine. All about me huh? Well, there's not all that much to say. I am remarkably happy and I have enjoyed just about everything life has thrown at me so far. I'm 27 years old, I've just taken things to the 'exclusive' level with someone..and am seeing how that goes. I love to read, draw, sculpt, paint, write, sing karaoke (very badly), bowl (even worse) and converse. I work a lot, I have two jobs that satisfy very different needs for me, one is corporate, the other is very creative. I enjoy the 'stress' of being part of a non-profit machine, I also enjoy interacting with people in a creative environment. I am rather lame in that neither job is my dream job (Anthony Bourdain's off-camera sidekick?) and yet I truly enjoy them both..I find myself wishing there were more hours in the day pretty much on a daily basis.

I love dogs, and have two, if they were cats that would equate to like five so I feel like a true old maid sometimes. I love movies, not particularly in theaters but I'll go if it's to support a director I love, and have gone alone to many for a lack of being able to convince my friends to come with. It may be because a lot of my friends hate theaters..but I'm more inclined to think it's because my taste in movies may not coincide with theirs. I can handle that!

When I drink I prefer Maker's Mark (or a comparable bourbon), when I go to a bar there must be a good reason (karaoke?), and I will vehemently argue that any dive bar trumps a chain (Buffalo Wild Wings, TGIF, etc) any day.

I am getting more involved lately in lobbying, I find it sad that some people still think you should only speak up for gay rights if you ARE LGBT, when in reality, we're all in this together, and if one of us is treated differently, it affects all of us. I get a little sad on election days, but am truly optimistic that we the people will eventually pull our heads out of our asses.

I just moved back to Missouri to continue my education at a school closer to home. I want to transfer to Missouri Baptist University this fall. :) I used to want to be a doctor when I "grew up", so I became a lifeguard as soon as I could. Then I found archaeology and I never looked back. However, things change and you have to go with the flow. If I can get the funds, I am planning a trip to Taiwan!

I am the second eldest from a fairly big family. I am adopted...in my adopted family I have 4 siblings while in my birth family I also have 4 siblings. :) Life can get pretty crazy, but I love my family.

Music is a very big part of my life. I love listening to it - all kinds of genres. I love looking for new artists online, especially ones from different cultures and countries. When it comes to listening to music, I tend to get on music funks. Basically, if I find a song or artist that I really enjoy, I'll listen to them non-stop for about a week or so. My current funk is Flame. I also love to play music on my flute, piccolo, and piano.

Swimming and camping are two of my favorite pastimes, although I don't get to do either one nearly enough. I also enjoy kayaking and rowing. I was on a rowing team back home (St. Louis Rowing Club - look up their website!) for a season until work got in the way. Funny how it always has a tendency to do that.

My walk with God has become a big priority in my life. I praise God and His messages... His daily little reminders that He is the greatest power, He is the greatest Being, and we are all loved.

I'm looking for some new friends and possibly something long-term with a girl. I currently attend college but don't live on-campus, so I have to go the extra-mile to meet new friends. I'm starting to work towards a theater major in acting where I hope to put my personality into great use.
